Hello Everyone,
The link for this weekend’s worship and reflection is below. In your time of prayer, please remember Melissa, the sister of a young colleague of mine, who has had two bouts with cancer in 2020 and now is struggling with a pulmonary embolism. Hold deeply and with care all those in health care facing rising caseloads and educators around the country wrestling with imperfect choices for school in the fall. Pray with thanks for Hearts to Art, the interdisciplinary arts camp for kids who have experienced the death of a parent. Molly, who continues as the assistant director of the camp has been with Hearts to Art since the summer of 2010. In this pandemic year, they have successfully moved camp online. The first session for the younger children just finished yesterday, and their final performance was amazing. And finally, a prayer of thanks for John Lewis, legendary civil rights leader from his young years through until his death last night. Within our service materials, Jen’s violin tribute for Elijah McClain is now also a fitting remembrance of John Lewis. If you have any items for prayer you would commend to the attention of the congregation as a whole, please email them to me, so that I can send them out in a web note. Stay safe and well in this brutal heat.
Peace, Martha
