Happy Leap Year!

If we surrendered to Earth’s intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees. (Rainer Maria Rilke)  One of our opportunities to be in the midst of Earth’s intelligence is our retreat day, “Seeing With Sabbath Eyes” on Saturday, March 28, at Russell Woods. See the registration form attached to this memo.

Breakfast Church Gratitude: Thank you to members of the church council, with particular leadership from Dawn and Jan, for the delicious breakfast we enjoyed at last week’s Breakfast Church. Diana gathered up the signs we made at the end of our morning and has a plan with Roger to display them in the narthex.

The Bookcase Project

Our bookcase is brimming with books. If you still have books at home, bring them tomorrow when we will dedicate them. Placing our dedication early in March honors the birthdays of Dr. Seuss on March 2 and Ezra Jack Keats on March 11, two giants in the world of 20th century children’s literature. Tomorrow our children, with the guidance of Becky, will begin making bookmarks for this year’s Bookcase Project recipients.

Plants, Pollinators, and Prayers

Randy’s documentary crafted from over five years of filming of the unfolding of the Mayfield Monarch Waystation will have a world premier showing on Tuesday, April 7 at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, 6:30 pm. Tell everyone you know.  Encourage those you know to come. It is a beautiful film with a great message around our critical capacity to support pollinators with substantial and sustained habitat restoration.
