We have learned from Ann W. that the Children’s Waiting Room is in need of more board books right now. And so, we are collecting them for the next several weeks. You will find a basket at church for your board book contributions. Thanks for your support.

Flower Power

Our Flower Power fundraiser wraps up on Monday, May 1. For last minute help in ordering, see Dawn Sunday morning. Give to the earth and give to Mayfield with this growing new effort. 50% of Flower Power sales come back to Mayfield.

Northern Illinois Food Bank

Have you made a gift to the Northern Illinois Food Bank this month? Gifts can be placed in the food bank box or the offering plate. 63% of our hungry neighbors make difficult choices every day about whether to direct their limited resources to food or medicine expenses.

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Offerings

This year these two offerings will focus on shelter. Our national offering gathered in for Mother’s Day will go to Church World Service’s Blanket Fund. Our local effort collected for Father’s Day will help to fund the Adopt an Apartment Project of Spring Creek UCC which provides housing for homeless moms and their children in Rockford. More details will follow in future memos and in June’s announcements. There will be flyers in Sunday bulletins for you to indicate those in whose memory or honor you are giving your gifts. It is suggested that you donate $3 (or more) for each person named. The order form for the Mother’s Day offering is also attached to this memo. Note that these Mother’s Day forms should be returned to church by Wednesday, May 10.
