Cotton Patch

This two-act musical experience has its origins in the vernacular translation of the book of Matthew by Clarence Jordan.  Actor/playwright Tom Key, inspired by Dr. Jordan’s writing, further developed the story of how Joe and Mary raised a miraculous human.  Those old Bible stories take on a new twist when translated into a 20th-century Georgia setting.  Music and lyrics by Harry Chapin.  Performed by Phillip Kaufmann.  Admission $10 and a freewill offering will be taken for hunger programs. More information at www.cpgfoodproject.org.

Harry Chapin devoted much of his talent and efforts toward the goal of eradicating hunger.  ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS SHOW WILL SUPPORT FOOD PROGRAMS:  locally, FEED’M SOUP, and globally, WHYHunger and the Mennonite Central Committee.

Co-sponsored by Mayfield Congregational Church, First Congregational Church-DeKalb, and Federated Church-Sycamore.
