Pictured above is part of the set-up for last Saturday’s Bookcase Project Presentation. You can see how beautiful the bookcases are. Each of the children received over 30 books for their starter libraries. It was a glorious afternoon at Faranda’s as children and their families gathered. Mayfield was well represented by Martha and the Scott family.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this year’s Mother’s Day Mission, the A Jean Brugger Foundation. This foundation’s mission is “to create and promote educational and community development programs in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua and surrounding areas.” The collection currently totals $375. The names of women remembered and honored this year will be listed in Sunday’s bulletin. If you haven’t yet made a donation and would like to, there is still time. We will send our check to the foundation at the end of the month; please mark any further gifts “Mother’s Day.”

A Few Additional Thanks
The heavy rains on Monday night into Tuesday overtaxed the sump pump and its backup system in the parsonage. Throughout the parsonage basement, there were considerable inches of water Tuesday morning. A combination of JT, Billy, John, Dawn, Lars, Peggy, and Martha worked over 7 hours on Tuesday to replace the sump pump, clean up the water, pitch damaged items, and rearrange what wasn’t water soaked. Billy and Teresa checked on the progress of the drying out Wednesday. Through our United Church property insurance, Servpro’s professional services were in place on Thursday to undertake the next layer of work. Thank you to all who are helping get the parsonage basement back into order.
