• The third Sunday of the season is the Sunday of joy and the liturgical color is pink or rose. Do you have anything you might wear in those shades?
  • This is the Sunday for our Intergenerational Advent Event. Come ready for a delightful morning of participation.  Invite someone to come with you.
  • If you would like to donate a red, pink, or white poinsettia or two to add to the decorations of the season, bring your plants this Sunday or next.
  • Toys for Tots is fast approaching. We are gathering gifts for older children and teens.  Typical good items for these ages are:  sporting equipment and balls, books, backpacks, clothing from NIU and area sports teams (Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears), skateboards and helmets, cosmetic and bath gift sets, purses, wallets, watches, board games, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.  Place your unwrapped items under the tree in our Gathering Area on Sunday.  Wrapping Day is this Tuesday, December 19.  Speak to Dawn if you can help.
  • This year’s Advent Mission Project is a new music program at Jane Adeny Memorial School (JAMS) in Kenya. Nelle Conley will begin this program in the summer of 2018. She is there now doing research and planning for vocal and instrumental music at the school. $700 is needed for 20 music stands. Any additional funds collected will be added to the instrument fund.  Your generous support is appreciated. Mark your checks or envelopes JAMS Music. Contributions can be made through the end of the month.
  • And of course, plastic caps and lids are needed this week and many weeks to come as we reach for the 800 lbs of plastic needed for two recycled plastic benches to be placed in the Monarch Waystation.
